Advanced Technology
When you seek care at our office, you are assured that Dr. Roberts and his team utilize the latest in technology to enhance the quality of your dental care.
Digital Imaging
Dr. Roberts chooses carefully which and when radiographs are taken. There are many guidelines that we follow. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes.
Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Dr. Roberts utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is up to 80% less when compared to traditional radiographs.
Digital X-Rays:
A clear diagnostic x-ray helps us to diagnose any issues you may be having. These x-rays are incredibly low radiation exposure when compared to the old x-ray “films”. A full series of dental x-rays has LESS exposure to radiation than taking a commercial flight on an airplane.
3D Cone Beam CT:
A 3 dimensional x-ray of the upper and lower jaws allows us to digitally treatment plan procedures such as implants and see underlying issues such as infection of a tooth.
Laser Dentistry
We utilize lasers to treat many issues from fillings, tongue ties, cold sore treatment, facial esthetics, and many more procedures.
For patients who do not look forward to needles, drilling, or numbness, Laser Dentistry may be the right choice.
Laser dentistry is one of dentistry’s latest advances.
Areas of dental care that benefit from laser technology:
- Cavity diagnosis and removal
- Whitening Teeth
- Periodontal, or hum related, care
- Pediatric procedures
- Apthous Ulcer treatment (canker sore)
- Frenectomy (tongue-tie release) without anesthesia or sutures
- Root canals and apicoectomies
- Crown lengthening, gingivectomy and other gum corrections
Dental lasers have been shown to be safe and effective for treating both children and adults.
cerec Intra oral scanner and crown milling unit
This allows us to make a crown for your tooth and deliver a solid porcelain crown in the same appointment. No more wearing temporary crowns and multiple visits for delivery. A scan of the prepared tooth is made, and a computerized milling unit carves your crown out of a solid block of porcelain. We then “fire” the crown in an oven to strengthen and crystalize the porcelain. The crown is then bonded to the tooth, and you can resume your normal activities with no wait time after the appointment.
Intra Oral Cameras
We use intra oral cameras to take pictures of the teeth so that you can see exactly what we are seeing in the mouth, and why a tooth needs treatment.
Many patients, especially younger patients, are very familiar with the latest technology and are comfortable with the high tech practice. Computers and TV screens are their primary method of information processing.
Dr. Roberts utilizes Intraoral Camera technology that helps enhance your understanding of your diagnosis. An Intraoral Camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums, in order for us to accurately make a diagnosis. With clear, defined, enlarged images, we can show a patient exactly why a tooth needs a specific treatment.
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) Therapy
This is done by drawing the patient’s own blood, spinning it in a centrifuge, and then utilizing the patient’s own platelets and growth factors to help accelerate healing. This can be done after extractions, with a bone graft, or to help rejuvenate the skin and give it a more youthful appearance.
